My name is Sommer Tate. I grew up in Southlake, Texas when cows outnumbered people and the thing to do was go to the 7-11 for a Slurpee before heading to the football game on Friday night. It was fantastic. My grandparents owned a cattle ranch in east Texas where we spent holidays and summers learning to make chocolate pies, fishing, and playing golf. (Literally. There was a Par 3 hole carved out of a pasture). I spent my college years at Texas State University, immersed in communication classes, AFROTC activities, and river water while floating the Guadalupe. Following that was six years in the Air Force as a Logistics Readiness Officer where I got to travel, grow, learn, and be put into situations I couldn’t have imagined. They were priceless years, but I knew I wanted to be truly passionate about my work, and counting beans and bullets wasn’t it. I set out to fulfill that idea and became a certified interior decorator.

Since then I have been working for builders and on independent projects, model homes, staging, etc. I absolutely love it.

My design style was born from the places I have lived and been inspired by including Texas, New Orleans, and Charleston. I love combining new and aged elements, nostalgic and novelty items, and rustic to contemporary styles.
